Go look at when you use it. It's when someone is right, you know they are

Nope. Someone can't be "right" about a legal claim until and unless they prove it in court. That's the whole purpose of me calling them out.

Dude, this is a DISCUSSION board not an action board. People are free to discuss as they please.

This is also something we have been over before. One of my lines there was "When did I say people shouldn't be allowed to express their opinions? People are free to post their opinions, and I am free to highlight the holes in their reasoning. You act like I am trying to suppress on-topic conversation here, but I'm not. ".

The deeper point I keep trying to make is that spouting off about potential future lawsuits is useless without any intent of action. It's just virtue signaling. Good for getting the cheerleaders on the board to don their short skirts (oh who am I kidding, they never take those off) and wave their pom-poms, but useless when it comes to making actual investment decisions.

The idea that Treasury won't dare convert the seniors to commons due to resulting lawsuits is one of the biggest pieces of common nonsense I see on this board, and it is in the same vein as all the other "MQD! Takings! Self dealing!" useless legal theories bandied about here.

If someone really thinks a lawsuit over a certain action would succeed, at the very least they should provide the following information:

1) In what court would the suit be filed, and why?
2) Which law was/would be allegedly violated?
3) What would the plaintiffs seek as remedy?
4) Given what has happened in all the other court cases, what reason is there to believe this new suit would succeed?
5) How long would it take, in light of the government having fought every other case tooth and nail, for the suit to ultimately succeed?

The lack of details is the clearest indicator of someone's lack of intent to actually file a suit.

Got legal theories no plaintiff has tried? File your own lawsuit or shut up.

Posting about other posters is the last refuge of the incompetent.
