There's not an exact parallel between Nixon's restaurants and the businesses in this article, but still ... I think the article title:

Want to feel special? Stores and restaurants with paid memberships are betting on it



closely parallels the idea behind Nixon's "VIP" membership (which I haven't checked out to see if it is paid or free since I don't live near enough to take advantage of it).
