Is 2024 the Year of The Kong or The Dragon? Why can’t it be both? It could be.

As we scour the web for anything and everything that is or could be related…. Very quiet on the Spydasilk front, but Walter Wee posted this a month ago on Link:

2024 will be a great one for all of us! Looking forward to starting some new and innovative projects and completing those that are already in process!

Meanwhile, M appears to have either reposted to IG a month ago or updated the intro video from his site’s page for 20th Anniversary. I think it is updated because I don’t remember seeing his line of new kicks in the video previously. And it appears to end with shots from the old Podium Lounge show reveal which we’ve all seen before. The new kicks were released after that show which is why I think the video is new and put up as an anniversary celebration.

While Wee and M and KBLB do not mention Spydasilk at all lately, it is interesting that 2024 is the Year of The Dragon and you would think M wants to do something big for anniversary. Can KBLB/Prodigy/Lam Dong/Quang Nam provide the silkworm eggs and silk necessary to finally launch Spydasilk? What better way to celebrate than with a big reveal during the Year of The Dragon?

I sense restraint in even mentioning Spydasilk anymore. But I think any mention by Kim, Jon, Wee or M, about Spydasilk, will indicate that the bundle of joy from December had turned into many bundles and that Spydasilk is back on track. It all comes down to production and whether KBLB can finally make enough silk to kickstart this thing once and for all.

But have they moved on from that or not? Is the focus now performance apparel? Or is it still designer streetwear? Or is it all of the above? Well, as we know, it is none of the above if they can’t make enough silk for anyone to make anything with. But if they can make metric tons of it, bet dang sure it is all of the above and then some.

The anticipation that was building in 2018/2019 is building again now but it is nowhere near what it was back then. I like looking at the trading volume for the past 5 years and right now I see a teeny tiny bump for the first time in a while. But it is nothing like what it was back then. Not as prominent yet. Makes me wonder just what could happen as more news comes out about production over the next several months. And this Lam Dong trip 100% guarantees news is forthcoming about production.

It would be a real sweet treat if 2024 turns out to be the year production is truly commercialized, revenue is put on the books, and we all can say 2024 was the Year of The Dragon Silk.
