Given what alcoholic drinks cost at a restaurant, I suspect that "pricey" is the new normal for any sit-down restaurant. (Even without alcohol as well.) "Pricey" also attracts and benefits servers whose wages are partly derived from tips. "Cheap" -- if it isn't fast food -- means be thrifty and eat at home.
Assuming this isn't a 'planted' review, "it fits the mold of the demographic in the area" sounds like a shrewd move by Nixon.
