You don’t need to pay attention to Bolt Threads. It’s okay.

Those of us who do care may learn more about Bolt, their products, their financing, and so on as the company becomes public.

I don’t know if Bolt represents any threat to KBLB or not. But until KBLB actually starts making enough silk to sell, KBLB’s biggest threat is their inability to ‘scale and sale.’ If they can’t do that, it will be game over for KBLB.

People ask questions about KBLB because the company has been evasive in the past and has worked hard to cover over their failures. They lost a lot of trust.

If KBLB actually manages to produce sustained commercial-scale quantities of silk, we will find out more about who wants to buy their silk and how much revenue KBLB can earn.

You don’t have to care about those issues either. Investors certainly have the right to be interested in such matters, because they speak to the value of our investments.

Thompson is acting like he is certain that KBLB is on the cusp of commercial-scale production. He certainly understands the challenges of ‘scale and sale’ far better than he did in 2014 and probably better than he did just last year.

If he is right, I’ll make a useful amount of money. If not, I’ll walk away with a loss on my shares that can offset some gains I’ve made elsewhere. I hope you are in the same position.
