Eat at JFK. No, never.

Back in the 1990s I arrived in Manhattan early for a meeting and decided to have breakfast at a corner coffee shop. There was a big sign on the window saying BAGEL AND COFFEE $ 1.99. I sat down and ordered the bagel with cream cheese and coffee. The check was almost $ 10. I asked the waitress why the check was so high. Indeed the bagel and coffee were $ 1.99 but the cream cheese was $ 7.

Also...when the new Yankee Stadium first opened a then-acquaintance bought tickets that included access to some sort of luxury box. H ordered a bourbon on the rocks. The cost was something like $ 16...$12 for the pour and $4 extra for the ice.
