I finally got the rack & pinion off my 2005 Grand Am! That's good news!

On a side note, pay a shop the $1200 bucks to do it. I'll get a lot more done overall (new lower control arm; breaks; rotors; bushings; PS reservoir, pump, & lines; more), but goddamn it's time consuming. Maybe all that work would run $3,000 or more, I guess. Oh, and 2" strut extentions all around to accommodate the 17" rims & and oversized tires.

Anyone that tells you anything is "self-explanatory" or "it's pretty simple ... you don't need instructions" is the worst kind of liar.
