The fastest qualifying speed in NASCAR history was “Awesome Bill from Dawsonville” at 212.809 in 1987 at Talladega Superspeedway
When the race started, he broke an oil line and went two laps down.
He re-entered the race, and without no caution, he made two laps up under green, because he was so much faster than everyone and WON the race 🏁
