Absolutely.

FZA: “You make product with what you have and switch over to the more robust line with the larger cocoon.”

This is a possibility. I consider it unlikely because of the emphasis Thompson has placed on Bam 1 being the ‘centerpiece’ of the Spring trials and because no mention whatsoever of continuing production. It would have cost nothing for Thompson to add “Until the conclusion of the Spring trials, the existing hybrids will be used for interim silk production.”

We can speculate about why, but it seems clear that Thompson believes the future belongs to Bam 1 and the quad hybrid lines. For those reasons, I don’t think KBLB is producing silk now.

I will be happy to be proven wrong on this conclusion.
