I don't think they hid it in Equity Art. I think they dissolved Gansu Yasheng America Trade Co., Ltd which was holding the Chinese assets previously, so they had to move it somewhere else.

But yes, I think they wanted to spin-off Equity Art (initially) also for this reason.

I wonder if we'll ever see some hard cash in hand, in form of a dividend or buy-out offer.

I honestly don't know. They are playing with fire IMO.
You probably noticed I told my boss about it. To them it shouldn't matter if the assets are hidden for another 3 or 5 years. The value will still be there. But they can't tell me about it if they want to acquire a stake because I am a shareholder.
