The MAGA's need to be piled upon, they are taking away the rights of any human being who comes to the shores of this country and seeks asylum from the country they left. That is what America stands for, it is the backbone of this country, and it is those immigrants who are willing to give up their homeland and seek a better life here in America.
Those immigrants make this country great, look around and tell me who has not come from someplace else. I grew up north of New York City in the 1950s, and all of the families on my block were families who were displaced from Europe after World War II, they spent much time trying to leave their war-torn countries. Hell, I had to grow up with my mother who cursed my next-door neighbors for years because her husband was sent to war to fight against Hitler's Germany and the Nazi regime. Our neighbors were Hitler youth children taken from their families and taught to become Germany's next generation of followers.
We all learned to become neighbors in America, including my father who was the most gracious man I had ever met. He saw war for three years, and finally he opened up to me about his journey from Omaha beach to Berlin, Germany he also had seen enough to never have it repeated. I loved my father for his calmness in the face of those very same atrocities you want to point out. He was in a war, and he learned there has to be better way than all of that death and destruction. I could continue in this rant, but it is Saturday, and I am trying to enjoy the peacefulness of my home that has taken me a lifetime to make.
