bittorrent is an engine...i use it all the time...on many sites(those sites are clients of bittorent)..it is file sharing...sites that use that technology have many channels(p2p channels)...it's the new thing....or a general direction i should say...it is all VOD essentially---get out there and check it out...the switch is the change to DRM....which upsets mostly traditional p2p users....--have fun with it!
