Value- AAOI
I played AAOI in 2017, bought at $27 around the beginning of Jan, and sold at $96 right before Q2 report in August. I pretty much stayed away till this year, where I bought back at $8.50 avg, and sold all @ $19.30. Rosenblatt(analyst) has raised the target to $23, but that assumes a lot, and is based on $1.15 in eps next year. My target was $20, on the assumption of $1 next year. Either way, AAOI may be seeing the top of the AI boom, as I believe NVDA @ $700, and SMCI around $700 will be as well.
Value, I appreciate your view that SMCI could be a $1000 stock this year yet. However I'll never forget the year 2000, where there were dozens of eager investors lined up at the brokerage to chase the internet related tech stocks higher. 90% of those people went broke by mid 2001. I lost 90% by mid 2003 !
