Hey dummy, the shops track the sales via either an internal computer in the machine or by tracking the inventory offline.
For example, employee #1 puts in 50 3.5g canisters at $50 per and 25 pre-roll tubes at $10 per…that’s $2500 of canister and $250 of pre-roll tubes. Pretty easy to track.
Now some machines are “Smart” and the inventory is tracked via an internal computer. The “Dumb” machines do not have internal computers so employee #1 manually logs the inventory on a physical or digital spreadsheet.
Pretty simple process that has been done for nearly 100 years since vending machines were invented. Not only is this compliant with regulations but it also helps the vendor track sales metrics.
