No sure how big it could become.
I used to follow the Oilers and might buy an Edmonton Oilers Gretzky NHL uniform but not a WHA uniform.
Come to thinkof it they might not even be able to sell Oilers WHA merchandise cause the Oilers moved into the NHL and all merchandising rights to the name is probably with the NHL and the NHL Edmonton Oilers.
The Winnipeg Jets, Quebec Nordiques, Hartford Whalers same story.
