They owned Akron Ohio it seemed in the days. They were the largest employer then Firestone, Goodrich, and couple other smaller tire companies start up were taken place hence Akron was the tire Capital of the world. Now there isn't any tires built in Akron. Akron now is more of a college town and clean air with that. With all the tire companies in the 30's thru mid 70's Akron smelled like rubber and the houses in Akron were black lol.
