I’m ethnic Chinese but long assimilated into American culture. People from China refer assimilated American Chinese as “banana”—yellow on the outside but white inside. A derogatory term, except native Chinese expanding into the world have no chance unless they become assimilated, like having Anglicized names, George, Harry, Larry, etc. BTW, I’m Bill,from Houston, Tx.
