During early years of conservatorship period, the motive was to eliminate FnF so that the big banks can absorb their business.

People here piss on D - over and over as if D stole FNMA

1. R did the deed ---- be it for correct or hidden or correct and needed reasons ---- THE FIRST ACTION during a crisis

2. For ensuing years -- R (Senators) tried very hard to wind down F and F -- over and over and over (with F and F only second in their sights to the ACA). They could TASTE the huge business opportunity that TBTF banks had -- and the massive profit if they got that "monopoly"

3. The current positions ---- I assume are conflicting --- but TBTF banks want lower interest rates and more business - be it from FED for FHFA or FNMA or God ------ and if freeing FNMA really lowers mortgage rates ----- (without risk to all of us) ---- then great

4. If freeing F and F (or steps in that direction like taking capital blocks out of the way) does indeed lower mortgage rates by 1% (I doubt it big time) ------ then again - as many D or R have said - the political motivation says F and F will be free in a week (Mortgage rates - cost to carry a house purchase with high price and higher interest rates is a political killed and BIDEN should scream and promote his plan to lower that cost - and include FNMA in that answer (include in a way good for us). That may be honest or not - it may or may not work fast enough -- but boy it seems like it can be great politics for the incumbent)
