Hydraulic Accumulators might now fit a compact car.

Through a drive train innovation, individual wheel torque is controllable, allowing implementation of a variety of stability control strategies. In addition, this seminar will present adjoining research on addressing limitations in compact hydraulic energy storage through the development of a novel open accumulator. The open accumulator can theoretically increase the energy storage density over traditional accumulators by 24 times at 5000 psi. This energy storage method has the potential to change the mobile hydraulic market drastically.
