RKLB Rocket Lab USA Wins $515 Million Space Vehicle Contract; Shares Rise After Hours

05:02 PM EST, 12/21/2023 (MT Newswires) -- Rocket Lab USA (RKLB) said late Thursday its Rocket Lab National Security unit secured a $515 million contract with an undisclosed US government customer to make, deliver and operate 18 space vehicles.
The contract includes a $489 million base amount and $26 million of incentives and options, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Work under the agreement will start immediately with delivery of the vehicles to the customer for launch set for 2027, along with operation of the satellites scheduled through 2030 and an option to operate the satellites through 2033, the company said.
