How about ABT? During the past 10 years, ABT has increased its dividend at a compound annual rate of 9.6%. If ABT raises its dividend at the same rate going forward, you are effectively getting an 11.7% (2.1% + 9.6%) return, which is not bad for a “widows and orphans” stock!
