there is no housing bubble like in 08, not even close. back then kids were taking out baloon mortgages on houses that had payments of over 50% of their income. many were not only underwater with a regular housing correction, and only able to pay the interest on the loan. all that is impossible to happen again. GSEs are in better shape then ever.
of course the current idiot running FHFA and some dolts in congress want to give loans to low income, high risk people who would rather stay up all night and rob stores then get a job. She will ruin it for everyone if she had her way.
