I believe the plaintiff settled for billions of shares for 3 reasons:

1. FONU had no other way to pay

2. They were tipped off on an upcoming pump which could turn the settlement value into millions of dollars instead of 600k

3. The settled party(plaintiff) is likely an arm's length to FONU so the money becomes vertically integrated on payouts

I cannot see anything other than this reasoning
