I'd hate to see them lose a weekend of sales, etc, because of a glitch. With the CBS story still being seen, you know people are going to hit the website!
So old-site is better than no-site, and like you, I REALLY would like to believe that people are intelligent enough to understand the reasoning behind it, and not overreact. It's going to happen.. and by what we've seen, or rather not seen, I believe it's going to be very soon.
