Reserve Bank staff will review and refer your complaint to the financial institution you identified (Green Dot Bank). The institution will be asked to provide a response directly to you and a copy to the Reserve Bank. You should receive a response from the institution within 60 days. However, some complaints could take longer. After confirming the institution responded directly to you, the Reserve Bank will close your complaint. All complaints are considered in the Federal Reserve’s ongoing supervision of the institution.
Our authority includes federal consumer protection banking laws and regulations for the institutions we supervise. If the issues you raised involve business or trust accounts or are not addressed by any federal consumer protection banking laws or regulations, your complaint will be referred to the Reserve Bank supervisory staff responsible for oversight of the bank. If the supervisory staff needs to discuss the concerns you raised in your correspondence, they may contact you separately.
Please understand that we do not have the authority to resolve all types of problems. If you believe that you have a private cause of action, you may wish to seek the advice of legal counsel or law enforcement.
