As a result, Michaels will continue to scam people out of money, get sued some more, and just ring up a bigger tab that he'll never pay. It's his personal business model. He'll live a good life on other peoples backs, knowing nothing will happen to him. I can only hope street justice catches up to him.
The laws need to change. Civil cases should have penalities like jail terms where the perp works for peanuts which get paid to creditors just for principle's sake. One could argue prisons cost money. Yes, however think about all the money society waste on this POS just chasing him through the court systems. Even so, if an example is set knowing you will go to prison over the inability or willingness to pay people back, other low lives will think twice about doing the same shit.
