No. Because in my sentence, "whole" was used as an adjective.

As is both "whole" and "half' in the sentence above.

Btw, I was watching GOOG Friday afternoon and it was trading throughout the day. Not a lot, of course, but it WAS trading the WHOLE day.

You can lead a horse to water. But you can't make him get down on one knee and do an Al Jolson impression!
