So, your position is the government "can do whatever it wants" BUT they cant do anything with the preferreds, only scr$%% commons in favor of preferreds.
Can they also SCR$^% preferreds? No? Ok, then what have you been spending your preferred dividends on the last 10 years or so?
Last I checked, the goverment robbed from prefferds and commons..neither got any dividends since around 2009, but the US Treausry got billions.
So, please explain how/why the government will "change course" and only take advantage of commons, and give money to preferreds, when in the past they stole from both commons and preferreds?
What is it that will be different in the future to make the government stop robbing from preferreds, but continue robbing from the commons? And, worse, rob even more from commons and donate all that money stolen from common shareholders to the preferreds?
It appears to me the government is gonna keep steeling from both commons and preferreds "as long as they can" until a judge or the congress forces them to stop stealing from us.
NEITHER the commons nor the preferreds "have any security", because the government stole from both of us, and it appears they will continue as long as possible.
There is no advantage to the preferreds...the UST stole from us equally.
