It's all part of a general trend. Once upon a time, people felt they ought to make an effort to understand issues that interested or affected them. Nowadays, they're content--and even proud--to copy gibberish they read on social media sites. They use the wrong terminology and misconstrue the content of court documents, yet feel they should be taken seriously.
