WTM - I am sure that shorting adds downward pressure on the share price, but that should be effectively negated by the BUYERS.

Shorts vs Longs essentially neutralize each other.

If this is the case, then why does PLUG continue to fall? Well the Nasdaq overall has fallen and all ships fall with the tide; but that is an external factor outside of the control of PLUG. So what then is the real, internal reason why PLUG FALLS ?

Management ! The CEO dumping his shares. The massive secondary/dilution shortly thereafter . And the Accounting Fiasco. Those three Major Negative Catalysts, essentially cut the legs out from under PLUG, critically injured PLUG's credibility, and started the downtrend which remains strong even today.

Lately it has been Georgia, and who actually knows what is really going on there. Then there is next week's earnings which could cost shareholders as much as $1-2 per share when we see the financials. If PLUG pulls another stunt like last Q, look out below.

So shorts are basically betting that the share price will fall. In PLUG's case that is a very safe bet, and at least 25% of the open interest is betting that way.

Again a pretty safe bet, for the remainder of 2023.
