Let's get three things straight.

1) If the illicit market was eliminated by now, there would still be a massive oversupply of garbage and mid weed in Canada, so the deflationary pressures plaguing the industry would still be there.

2) No one credible thought the illicit market would be gone by now, so that truth should be baked into the business plan of any serious business. If anything they (legal LPs) are lucky and should be grateful to have 2/3 of the total market.

3) Indigenous people were excluded from Canada's cannabis legalization, and as a result there has been an explosion of "illegal" operators on reserves. Cops won't and can't touch those players. If Canopy has any future in this industry, they have to learn to compete against them.
