"There is no such thing as a sharp distinction between longs and shorts on this stock. I have published a very critical article about the stock lately.
But in 2013/2014 I have been an enthusiastic investor in Plug, selling it after the price went up much too quick, from about $0.50 to $10 in a matter of months. Of course, like many people I sold too early and 'missed' a lot of profits, but still it was a good trade.
After this, management has been much too optimistic about their goals, time and time again. They still are, all the while their margins are deteriorating and I believe this makes the stock a dangerous one to invest in.
It's not a question of 'who won' in the past. It is a question of what will happen in the future.

For Plug's performance, the future looks very, very uncertain."

"Correct, They had problems growing the material handling business last year but strong growth has resumed this year despite the business being a major disaster (and in contrast to your expectations above).
Their service contract terms with Walmart and Amazon are so bad that the company is forced to record millions of dollars of loss provisions for brand new equipment each quarter."
