Earlier today, Greece’s Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, delivered a speech in Kozani, Greece. During his address, he highlighted various aspects of the region of Western Macedonia, stating, among other things, “It is a region at the forefront of the green transition, harnessing significant resources from the Just Transition Fund secured by this government. Western Macedonia is poised to take a leading role in the development of new energy sources, from renewables to hydrogen.” After concluding his speech, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made a statement to the local news website and newspaper, ‘The Voice of Kozani (Link)‘ regarding the status of Advent’s Green HiPo project, where he affirmed, “We will support the investment of the company Advent (hydrogen) to the extent we can.”

From his side, the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, George Kasapidis, stated, among other things: “As a region, we participated for the first time in highly significant EU programs, namely the IPCEIs, with two major investments approved for Western Macedonia, totaling several hundred million euros. These investments are set to create several hundred new highly skilled and well-compensated jobs, dedicated to the development of Western Macedonia, and propel our region at least 30 years into the future, bringing us in alignment with technologically advanced nations in the energy technology sector, including Germany, Denmark, Korea, and Japan. We have never before been this closely aligned with such advanced nations in the cutting-edge domains of the global economy.”

Commenting on the remarks made earlier today in Kozani, Dr. Vasilis Gregoriou, Advent’s Chairman and CEO, stated, “Advent remains committed to the launch of Green HiPo. We are taking every step possible to advance this initiative as it is vital to the region of Western Macedonia, the country of Greece, and to Europe. Decarbonization is a mandate from the European Union, and we will do our best to ensure that it happens. We are in continuous contact with Greek government authorities, and we will continue to cooperate with them to secure the funding for the project as soon as possible.”
