Schadenfreude (shaa·duhn·froy·duh), a borrowed German term that originates from the words 'harm' and 'joy', is the experiencing of pleasure or self-satisfaction that come from witnessing the troubles of others.
Those with lower self-esteem tend to experience schadenfreude more frequently and intensely. People who feel good about others' misfortunes latch onto bad news about other people as something that feeds their soul when it is actually poisoning them.
With a classification of Antisocial Personality Disorder, sometimes called sociopathy, extreme "schadenfreude" can be difficult if not impossible to successfully treat.
Freedom of speech is not the right to say something anywhere you want, but the right to say it somewhere.
