SomnoMed lifts revenue 19% amid soaring demand

SomnoMed CO-CEOs Amrita Blickstead and Karen Borg talked with Proactive about the company’s performance and opportunities in the global sleep apnea treatment market. The company, which develops proprietary oral appliances for obstructive sleep apnea, is seeing significant demand as patients seek alternatives to traditional CPAP therapy. “About 60% of people fail to be able to use actual CPAP therapy because it’s quite invasive,” Borg explained. SomnoMed’s devices offer a less intrusive solution and are distributed through dental channels in 28 countries, with strong uptake in the United States and Western Europe. The co-CEOs discussed a major tailwind from the rising use of GLP-1 therapies for weight loss, which is pushing more patients to explore alternative sleep apnea treatments. Increased public awareness of sleep wellness through apps and consumer health trends is also fueling demand. To meet this growth, Blickstead said their immediate focus was on ensuring “the right foundation for profitable growth.” This included strengthening the company’s financial base, reducing costs, paying down debt, and investing heavily in manufacturing. Production capacity has increased by over 40%, with revenue up 19% year-on-year and EBITDA for the first half reaching AUD 5.80 million, compared to a AUD 1.10 million loss previously. MP Evans posts record 2024 results, eyes growth

MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) CEO Matthew Coulson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s record results for 2024 and the strong start to 2025. MP Evans Group reported a robust financial performance in 2024, with Coulson confirming a record profit and a 66% increase in earnings per share. “It’s been a fantastic year for the group,” Coulson said, noting that high pricing supported the result, with prices averaging around $820 per tonne for the year. The company processed 1.6 million tonnes of crop in 2024, maintaining output despite weather-related challenges in Indonesia. Coulson highlighted this achievement in context: while Indonesia saw a slight national decline in crop yield, MP Evans sustained high volumes, reflecting operational resilience. Planting activity also continued across its operations, particularly in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. The company expects to exceed 11,000 hectares planted at its Musi Rawas estate in early 2025, while its ABK site in East Kalimantan is set for more extensive development this year. Coulson also noted a milestone in sustainability, with over 250,000 tonnes of certified sustainable output processed across the company’s six mills in 2024. EnWave expands footprint with commercial license in Japan and U.S. biopharmaceutical agreement

EnWave Corporation CEO Brent Charleton joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company has signed a commercial license agreement with Hokkai Yamato Foods Japan, a leading producer of processed foods such as soups, furikake, and ochazuke. As part of the agreement, Hokkai Yamato has acquired a 10kW Radiant Energy Vacuum (REV™) machine to drive product development and support early-stage commercial production in Japan. This license grants Hokkai Yamato exclusive rights to use EnWave’s patented REV™ technology for the production of various food products within Japan. In return, Hokkai Yamato will pay royalties to EnWave, consistent with existing licensing agreements. EnWave will work closely with Hokkai Yamato to optimize product development and ensure long-term commercial success. In addition to expanding its presence in the Japanese food sector, EnWave has also signed a master service agreement with BioTechnique, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical contract manufacturer. This agreement lays the groundwork for BioTechnique to evaluate EnWave’s REV™ dehydration technology as a potential alternative to freeze-drying in biopharmaceutical applications. As part of the collaboration, BioTechnique will conduct paid testing of several liquid pharmaceutical products, drying them in vials using pilot-scale REV™ machinery at EnWave’s Innovation Center in Delta, British Columbia. Thor Explorations says Douta-West discovery adds gold ounces for upcoming PFS

Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF) CEO Segun Lawson talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about progress at the Douta gold project in Senegal, with a specific focus on the Douta-West licence. Lawson outlined that Thor acquired the licence a year ago and has since been advancing drilling efforts there. He confirmed the company has now made a fresh discovery, which includes oxide, free-flowing, recoverable gold material. “These are wide intersections between 12 and 20 metres wide, with very good grades between 1.3 and just over 2 grams per ton,” Lawson said. He added that the anomaly runs for approximately two kilometres and could be a significant contributor to the overall economics of the project. Lawson noted that the next step is to fully drill the strike length of the discovery zone. This will allow the company to include the newly identified ounces into its mine plan and potentially enhance the preliminary feasibility study (PFS). He also highlighted that the company is not pursuing exploration for academic purposes, but rather with a clear intent to build and deliver value to shareholders.
