I learned how to trade currencies using technical analysis.
By 2010 I saw how HFTs did not recognize support and resistance levels and would blow through stop loss levels only to resume the desired direction.
This would require a much larger stop loss than I was comfortable with.

I knew a professional currency trader and he had remarked that HFTs were the majority of trading and companies were replacing humans with computers.

"Self fulfilling prophecy"- that is the usual argument against technical analysis.
