Personal experience, Rocky was larger than life,
even for a Texan. His resume was "unimpeachable"
when it came to paying his dues with the masters.
He "didn't care" for Clapton or for that matter ANY
of the British blues acolytes. SRV followed him
around wherever he played inTexas when he was no
more than 15, I think.
He opened for his brothers' band one New Year's Eve
at some massive arena in Houston. Following his set,
he set his guitar on fire and, looking into the wings where
the "other band" watched,he said "follow that, mother fucker."
