Maybe things are different in your field but nowhere have I ever worked would someone without a geology degree (or some field closely related) call themselves a geologist. Same with engineers I have worked with...you can bet they had a degree in engineering or they would not claim to be an engineer.

I also asked a family member who is recently retired from an aerospace company (satellites). He told me he had never had an employee with the title of engineer who did not have an engineering degree.

I suppose a guy driving a train would legitimately call themselves an engineer too. But someone calling themselves an aerospace engineer (and a metallurgist no less) who seems to exhibit very little technical knowledge and horrible writing skills...just has no credibility.

Do your own research, use third-party sources, and don't buy into the hype.
