OK, let's see where it all began. In November of last year, we all still didn't really know how big AI was going to be, nor how soon it would be here.

Looking back, we now realize just how huge this thing really is. But how does this play out for us? For Spectra7?

GPU maker Nvidia and cloud giant Microsoft have entered into a multi-year collaboration to build "one of the most powerful AI supercomputers in the world."

The cloud-based system will use Nvidia GPUs and networking gear, as well as use Nvidia's AI software stack.

Specifics were not disclosed, but Nvidia said that the deal will add tens of thousands of Nvidia A100 and H100 GPUs, as well as Quantum-2 400Gb/s InfiniBand networking gear.

Back then, we had no idea what Nvidia's Quantum-2 400Gb/s InfiniBand networking gear consisted of. Heck, we didn't even know it had anything to do with Spectra7!

But now, fast forward to the news that Nvidia has selected ACC's, and only ACC's as their Infinband interconnect of choice for these highest of speeds for AI data centers, and we begin to see the bigger picture.

In just the past three years, NVIDIA acquired Mellanox for its interconnect technology,

Mellanox ACC cables are actually Volex ACC cables, as we have already seen. Volex manufactures them for Nvida using Spectra7 Chips (Confirmed to me via email response from Volex).

Jensen likes to say that AI is having its iPhone moment, which implies NVIDIA, much like Apple in 2007, is enjoying a moment of its own.

And, yes, so are we, as we are part of this amazing venture into the future if AI interconnected data centers.

Form Factors
