The "mention" notification goes away but the post where you're mentioned remains. :)

I'm not sure why your @ didn't take on this one. I'm older too and had the same issues when I was first trying to use it. :) The problem in this case may be if you edited your post to add the @ to yourself. I think but not sure that might've been my initial problem and may be the issue here.

Here's an example of where I would've used mentions:

If we would've had mentions I could've replied: I'm alerting Meatloaf that I'm talking about something I think he may be interested in if he wants to join in the conversation.

I'm not sure Dave is necessarily a fisherman @IH Geek [Meatloaf] might be a better bet for a fishing buddy for the afternoon.
