What a load of crap. The FTD numbers from the SEC and the short interest data from FINRA or the exchange the stock is on is the only real data showing short positions. You can't hide a short, naked or otherwise, because when someone BUYS a stock from anywhere, they (and their brokers) expect it to be delivered to their accounts within 3 days, and if it isn't, it becomes an FTD and is reported to and recorded by the SEC.
The "get shorty" narrative is just a fairy tale told by pumpers and companies whose stocks tank.
