TLRY bought a brand. They spend a few bucks to brew and bottle some schwill, then market it as an edgy beer with a mohawk, put out some social media, TV commercials, hockey arena adverts/promos and the beer sells itself to stupids like me. Surely TLRY could f it up but the brand is already airborne, they just have to keep it from crashing.

Alcanna is more of a business or operation. AFAIK there is no Alcanna Cannabrew or some other brand name product. Alcanna is equivalent to a BevMo or No-Name Regional Liquor Store Across North America……I DGAF where I buy my Jack Daniel’s or LaBatt’s so long as it goes to my head just the same.

My guess is the TLRY hype fades and Alcanna will never amount to squat for SNDL. For f..ks sake CGC was backed by a liquor distributor that dwarfs Alcanna and look how that played out.

The legal cannabis industry is a disgrace. Just look at NY’s roll out!!! NY had CO, WA, CA, along with a half dozen other state models to cherry pick good and bad policy from and NY still put together a miserable legal cannabis market.

Someday there will be a lucrative legal cannabis industry just like there is a massive liquor industry fueled by marketing, banking and all the capitalist comforts. Whether TLRY, SNDL, CGC or today’s public players will still be around to participate in that marketplace…..that remains to be seen.
