Surveys/Polls get different answers based upon how questions are asked so I take them all with a grain of salt. However, I agree in general with several of the points being made. Specifically:
People don't like needles and self injections
Cost is an issue and for weight loss and will be a deterrent to usage. $300 a month seems like a tolerable copay IMO. This is opinion based upon what I've learned/read about what is happening at medspa's/what people have historically paid for Weight loss programs.
It doesn't sound like tolerability/side effects were mentioned. I agree with you that an important aspect of the new "G" (GLP-1, GIP, or Glucagen) I believe tolerability is even more important than whether it is Oral or Sub-q and will eventually determine the degree of market success.
Obesity in and of itself is a big health problem and I don't think the cardio problems of the new "G's" compare to older drugs which created real cardio issues. In fact I think the new G's will be proven to improve overall cardiovascular health. The thyroid cancer risk is de minimis and not seeming to appear in any of the people currently on these drugs.
Last comment is even if the survey were spot on, if only 23% of the obese + overweight people went on a "G" based therapy permanently, we would still be taking about 10's of millions of people in the US alone.
