That would likely lead to a horrendous collapse of the markets and economy. Be careful what you wish for.

My thinking is simply this: the hedge funds operate as market makers, if they get in trouble they will let the OTC Pinks run and then once again as the retail traders load up they sell big.

If you have a bunch of OTC pinks we might see a run on numerous tickers once again. Then simply sell as the buying volume is up.

Who knows??? What else is going to make the OTC run again. It is the wild west of markets.
