No news from me on the trademark case or form 10.

The two recent, duplicate articles about Takiza Taco that said nothing open opening dates, but highlighted mezcal, might be a hint that something is close. But, the writer could have picked up all of the article content by on-line info scrounging, because all of that info was in the Nov 2022 Denver Post article:
https://www.denverpost.com/2022/11/03/kalaka-mexican-kitchen-evergreen-opening-denver-location/

That Google maps shows the Takiza places also means someone went out of their way to put that info there. But things on Google Maps about future anything have to be taken with a grain of salt.

The old Illegal Pizza site now sports a label for "The Port of Peri Peri" Portuguese food restaurant (if you ask Google maps just right):

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tax.preparer/@26.1906943,-80.2527416,20.21z/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x88d905dda46b10cb:0x106c3195fba93136!2s5401+N+University+Dr,+Lauderhill,+FL+33351!3b1!8m2!3d26.1907436!4d-80.25266!16s%2Fg%2F11c2fgc3q5!3m5!1s0x88d905dda46b10cb:0x9f67a545960ccd54!8m2!3d26.1907451!4d-80.2526196!16s%2Fg%2F11f57pd1sj?authuser=0&entry=ttu

but the parent website lists NO Florida restaurants:
https://www.myperiperi.com/our-locations/

so either that is a coming-maybe, or was a premature but now abandoned plan.

In closing, I'll share an observation and fact-set:

Nixon still hasn't filed his annual report for West Coast Ventures Group in Florida:

https://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/CorporationSearch/SearchResultDetail?inquirytype=EntityName&directionType=Initial&searchNameOrder=WESTCOASTVENTURESGROUP%20P220000150360&aggregateId=domp-p22000015036-399e64f0-1753-473d-8595-f108b0be115f&searchTerm=west%20coast%20ventures%20group&listNameOrder=WESTCOASTVENTURESGROUP%20P220000150360

He is now officially late, which means that if he files before the next deadline, he will have to pay a late-fee (duh).

When is the next deadline and what happens if he doesn't file (you ask)? Answer:
https://dos.myflorida.com/sunbiz/manage-business/efile/annual-report/

This shows that the next deadline is the third Friday in September. If that is missed, the company is administratively dissolved.

Nixon HAS filed his annual report in Florida for Nixon Restaurant Group (which shows who his new transfer agent is):
https://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/CorporationSearch/SearchResultDetail?inquirytype=EntityName&directionType=Initial&searchNameOrder=NIXONRESTAURANTGROUP%20P150000841150&aggregateId=domp-p15000084115-b9e0da33-7c5b-480a-a81d-8ff90b1401f3&searchTerm=nixon%20restaurant&listNameOrder=NIXONRESTAURANTGROUP%20P150000841150

NRG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of West Coast Ventures Group.

Nixon has also kept his registrations up to date for his CO branch of NRG:
https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_co/20161116785

And Nixon has also kept is CO branch registration for WCVC up to date, despite being late on the FL parent corp registration:
https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_co/20171773295

Feel free to speculate on what it means for a parent corporation to be administratively dissolved, but not its other-state branch, and not one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, especially for a company that is all about restaurants, and the subsidiary has a (or maybe even *the*) restaurant focus.

Things I don't know: the relationship between all of Nixon's other sub-corporations and NRG, i.e., if there's been a change so that those other corporations are now under NRG rather than WCVC. Other than in Edgar-type filings, I do not yet know where to look (but I will keep looking).

The last Edgar-filed WCVC annual report says:
"The Company’s wholly-owned subsidiaries are Nixon Restaurant Group, Inc.; J&F Restaurant, LLC (El Senor and Illegal Burger Evergreen); Illegal Burger, LLC (Arvada); Illegal Burger Writer Square, LLC; Illegal Burger Capital Hill, LLC; Illegal Burger CitiSet, LLC; Illegal Pizza, LLC; Illegal Brands, LLC; Illegal Burger Franchising, LLC; and, Illegal Brands IP, LLC."

El Senior [Sol] is now Kalaka Mexican Kitchen. New corporations for that (the two restaurants), El Cazo Mexican Kitchen, and the two new Takiza places all post-date that annual filing.

Last quirky thing:
(Already mentioned above): Nixon has filed his annual report for the Colorado Branch of West Coast Ventures Group (June 27, 2023):
https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_co/20171773295

The CO Branch for Nixon Restaurant Group was updated in early 2023:
https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_co/20161116785

Nixon also created a mysterious -- and seemingly unused -- CO corporation, Nixon Restaurant Corp:
https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_co/20201114430

in 2020, and has kept its annual state registration up to date each year (2021, 2022, 2023).
