Found It! Evidence of Nvidia/Spectra7/Microsoft collaboration.

Bear with me, this takes a bit of explaining. But I'll give you the great news up front: It appears Nvidia is using Spectra7 cables to help Microsoft build-out their massive, new AI infrastructure.

About a week ago, we discussed this possibility here, and now I have found evidence that it is very likely the case that they are.

Here's the Breakdown of how it all went:

Spectra7 worked with Mellanox, or as they stated, "announced that it has achieved robust error free performance with Mellanox ConnectX-5 network adapters configured for Ethernet low latency CA-N transmission."

Nvidia then buys Mellanox and incorporates its Data Center Interconnects, now called "NVIDIA® Mellanox® LinkX®," into their design plan for GPU's and interconnection of AI purpose-built data centers.

Alan Weckel of 650 Group puts out a report (just a few days ago) stating that Active Copper Cables using will be the critical interconnect technology to drive AI data center expansion, and he mentions Spectra7 specifically.

A couple of days later, Nvidia announces it is holding a Webinar on August 2nd with Microsoft and Alan Weckel of 650 Group on AI "Accelerate AI Workloads With InfiniBand, High-performance networking unlocks the potential of large language models."

Hang tight, I'm almost at the part with the evidence that Spectra7 is a part of all of this!

So we know all of this. We know Nvidia bought Mellanox and that Spectra7 worked with Mellanox, and that Microsoft apparently dumped AEC's from Credo for another technology for their data centers. And we know that now Nvida, Microsoft, and Alan Weckel of 650 group are holding a Webinar on AI Interconnects in a few days.

But, until now, we had no real proof that Spectra7 is a part of all of this. We have plenty of evidence, but not necessarily proof.

Well, what I'm about to reveal now is as close to proof as we're going to get until they can finally announce publicly that they are involved.

Here it goes:

Jan. 31, 2023, Spectra7 announces it has partnered with Volex on 800G Interconnects for the upcoming AI market

Nvidia is working with Microsoft and Alana Weckel of 650 Group to promote their 800G AI expansion.

Alan Weckel of 650 Group just reported that Spectra7's ACC Active Copper Cables will be a critical part of this expansion (sounds like proof, but wait, it gets better!)

Nvidia, the undisputed world leader of AI data center interconnection supply, now lists "NVIDIA® Mellanox® LinkX®," as its interconnect for this expansion.

But who makes this Interconnect? Is it Nvida? No, they don't make those cables.

Is it Mellanox? Nope, they don't make them either.

So who makes them?

Remember up at the top of this list where I wrote that Spectra7 has partnered with Volex to manufacture 800G Interconnects for the AI Market? Well Guess who makes the 800G Interconnects branded as "NVIDIA® Mellanox® LinkX®," ?

You guessed it. It's Volex!

If you scroll about 80 Percent down that Specs page (which shows the specs that match Spectra7 ACC specs), you will come to this beautiful little box that contains the following:

Manufacturer site

VS: Volex China

VB: Volex Indonesia

Volex does not make 5 different types of Active Copper cable. They don't make 3 different types. They make ONE. The one they make with Spectra7 chips.

Yes folks, Nvidia, who is working with Microsoft, who is supplying just about every Hyperscale operator with GPU's for AI-enabled data centers, is now also providing Active Copper (ACC) Interconnects made by Volex, who makes them using Spectra7 chips.
