...for the sole purpose of leaving work to trade full time and be semi retired...

Trading-for-a-living I use futures & options: Leverage & tax-advantaged status.

OTC sub-penny garbage is better traded in retirement accounts: don't average down, and keep losses small. Read that again.

When trading in those accounts, remain agile & controlled. When something is working well you won't feel hamstrung by holding-periods and you can ring the register without worrying about short-term vs long term gains.

Been doing this a while, just my 2c and I'm sure somebody will disagree.
