$GPGOF Each EV battery requires between 40 and 60 kilograms of graphite material. According to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence data, demand for natural graphite from the battery segment reached 400,000 metric tons in 2021 and is projected to scale up to 3 million metric tons by 2030. Additionally, demand for synthetic graphite was around 300,000 metric tons in 2021, with an anticipated increase to 1.5 million metric tons by 2030. Analysts at Benchmark predict a supply deficit by 2027 or 2028 if graphite companies do not expand their operations.
