The details of the contract between Compal and Tri Cascade are not disclosed. Tri Cascade is marketing under the name VOS, posting on YouTube under the name VOS, and registered the name VOS with Amazon. It feels exclusive, but nobody can know for certain either way.

VOS delivers the failover capability that I invested in for SkiQ in 2018, and Tri Cascade has a long term relationship with Compal. I'm inclined to believe that VOS is a collaboration between the companies and it was test marketed in Asia under the APal brand. But that is a guess, not fact. In either case, the APal product was also a Compal product, and the specifications seem to be different in that the APal device did not mention Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, that I saw. That device said Compal chipset in the link posted earlier today. So they are different versions of the same concept, IMO.

Who is right? IDK. To me, it's moot today because if you want a 5G dongle modem in the US, you'll be buying it from Tri Cascade.
