I have a close friend who went pubic and then sold his telecom company for over a $1billion in stock and cash in the late 90’s,to a major company. Several years later he started a software/tech company with those profits in the early 2000’’s. The company (which is private) finally broke even recently but he supported it all these years, and he has lost a huge portion of his net worth.
Success with one company does not always translate into success for another endeavor.
